So what kind of institutions are there in library science? Is it a field of limit possibilities? Or is it limitless? The more I study, the more I find the different places a librarian is needed to function in the workplace. For one, librarians are used to maintain and manage information. Hense, Library Information Science. Though, in the School, Work place, and Specialities; there are tons of information that needs to be maintain either on the web, or in paper format. Depending on the size of the material in use, one librarian could be the difference between 10 assistants, to one librarian managing the same material in a more educated fashion. They are educated on managing and searching for information. That's why in the coming weeks I'm going to develop a conversation on the ways a Librarian can be useful in a small business workplace, and could be more useful then a business assistant.

Though I think the current state of academia and the requirement for "specialization" in order to work in a given field will limit where librarians can work, it does seem that in theory a librarian would be an asset to any organization in the information age. As gate keepers of info, I could see librarians running the world!!!!
