Law Librarian Volunteership

I guess I need to update my blogs! Its been what months. Well things have been going well, I have been excercising like mad to loose pounds and they come right back once my doctor adds another pill. So I am too frustrated to even get on a tredmil.

I am volunteering at a law library. It is a law firm that does real estate home ownerships. I'm learning filing (circulation), copying a law document, proofing them (which I'm realizing I need a law dictionary for), and then I am doing or teaching myself animation. Its fun. I added a film on this site for your pleasure, its nothing major.

I'm also going to be volunteering at a Holocaust Museum Library, I do it on July 5th and I'm going to do it every other week.

The law firm is expanding, and do a very good job at representing home associations. Everyone is very nice in these professional establishments, its nothing like working at a call center or service industry like I'm used to working in. They are expanding, and I'm glad they took me on. I meant to stay today in order to archive files, but I have to get in touch with an old professor to see if he has any advice on what to do. The Office Manager said its easy, but I plan on tackling it on Monday cause I work from 930-1. today i woke up later then usual, and got there at 10. I'm usually out of bed at 7, but my dog has been waking up later then usual.

The law firm I volunteer at is John L Di. Masi, PA. I do to put something on my resume besides working for my dad, and so far I like it as experience and as something to do. Its great to do something you normally don't do and find out you like it. In the Middle Ages, that was call Apprenticeship. Its too bad they don't do that now. It would give people a reason to get up out of bed, into the work force, and do something constructive and learn a new skill. I am.

Public Libraries Part Two

Talking about public libraries,
have you ever been in a public law library?
usually those libraries are made for the public
so individuals could defend their own rights in court
Though, most of the time, law libraries are private
law libraries are for the lawyers to gather information on a case
do you know what kind of documents are in a law library?
Law libraries are also considered special libraries, and when
the libraries are open to the public, they are considered public law libraries.
According to the library at Harvard University, they used microfilm documents
books, verdicts of cases and information on cases that have happened since
the earliest it has been recorded.
They have databases of cases online.
They have the largest in the USA concentration of information
information for law and the use of the library is strictly for student use.
law libraries are for either the lawyers, students, and rarely public.
An example of a law library that is public is the A County Law Library, if they have it.
There is no telling how much information is in the library, cause it depends on
the budget from the county or institution, but
there is tons of information that can be found
at a library.
