Welcome to Institutions In Library Science Blog.
My Name is Arielle Sag. I am am currently in the graduate program at the University of South Florida with aims on entering the field of the world place as a researcher and professional writer. Let me introduce myself, and give you a brief summary of my experience in researching, library experiences, the papers I've had to write in Undergraduate program, and any personal information you might find interesting about me, and my life.
I am 25 years old. I was home schooled from kindergarten up until high school. I was a girl scout for 13 years. I did my silver award, gold award, and was fundraising officer for an NJROTC program. I raised about 15,000 dollars in one year. I finished high school in 2000, and went to Seminole Community College in August 2000. I didn't really know what I wanted my undergraduate degree in, or masters for that matter; but I knew I loved learning. I took 4 years to finish my AA, but I had a 3.24 GPA at the end of the semester of summer of 07.
I transfered from SCC to the University of South Florida, to finish up my undergraduate degree in Humanities. I learned a variety of skills in the degree. And one of the skills is analytical thinking and drawing up my own conclusions on thoughts and observations to the arts. This would of course be backed up by sources I found through the library and databases at USF.
I took many classes at USF. I wrote papers and projects from anything from Philosophy of Mind, to World of Homer. I did all kinds of things from poster projects, power point presentations, to albums of newspaper clippings on the history and culture of the Japanese Tea ceremony. I don't have a huge background in APA, but I'm fluent in MLA. I know MLA like the back of my hand, and I tend to slip into MLA by accident during my first semester in History of Libraries. I decided on Library Science, cause I love to research and I'm good at it. I can find information on anything, and anywhere.
When I finished my undergraduate degree, my GPA in my major was a 3.25, and my over all GPA finished a 3.44. I came down with Phenomena and couldn't walk. I was in the hospital for 5 days, when I checked in, I was breathing at 80%. I almost didn't start graduate school in the fall due to complications at home, but I ended up with a 93 A.
On the side, I love creative writing and I love film making. I own my own film company now, and I have self published two novels in a series. I have written short stories, and am finishing the series in my spare time. The only reason why I haven't had them professionally published is usually the first question they ask you is, have you been published? And if so, how many copies have you sold? So I decided to self published. So far I sold 5 copies. 4 of one book, 1 of the other.
Right now, my focus is on this class and my other classes, but I'm busy with film, and trying to build a business. The economy doesn't look so hot to me, so I think with a liking to film, and my ability to write stories. I have an eye for the creative spirit. I have a manager, and you read my creative work at http://www.fictionpress.com/~gurusag
I am currently working on a documentary on the rise of hate crime in the Orlando Region, and plan on entering it in the film festival in either 09 or 10. I'm quite busy, but I spend most of my time at home doing school work and writing my stories and coming up with business outlines for my company.
Well this is a little bit about me, feel free to ask me anything. Check out my company site and my activities at any time. http://www.ariellescreenplayproductions.com
